Girls Play Day LPGA Girls Golf Instruction & 9 hole
Summer Session begins June 25th - August 27th 2017
Each season will consist of 10 weeks of life skills sessions and mentoring, golf instruction, golf equipment and course access, and opportunities for local tournaments, trips, and community involvement. Our main class will be held once a week, but youth will have access to the golf facilities, coaches, and mentors up to 4 times a week. For the golf curriculum, each week the instructor will focus on a different club, which will focus on a different part of the golf course, new rules, and inherent life skills such as integrity, honesty, responsibility, and sportmanship to name a few. For the life skills curriculum, each week will cover a new topic, and we will measure their progress throughout the season.
Douglass Youth Development Program also has an LPGA-USGA sanctioned Girls' Golf program. It is a developmental junior golf program for kids age 7-17, to create a network for girls to learn to play golf, build friendships and sample competition in a positive and supportive learning environment where they can establish a life-long interest in the game.
Parents and Family, We Need You
We recommend parents to volunteer during the course of the program. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available and you do not have to be a golfer to participate. Please visit our volunteer page to download a volunteer application.
Douglass Youth Development Program seeks to make the game of golf and its inherent life skills affordable and accessible to anyone who wants to participate. As a nonprofit, the majority of our funding is through donations and fundraising. For this reason your annual registration fees plus parent involvement in fundraising is strongly encouraged for the continued success of the program. Your registration fee provides the following services:
2 hours of weekly instruction by a LPGA teaching professional year round
Golf course access during program hours
Access to practice facilities including the driving range
Access to golf equipment on a weekly basis
Trips to a local PGA Champions Tour Event
Opportunities for national trips and college scholarships
